FALLAS NEWS

LA CRIDA 2026: A VERY SPECIAL ONE!

Get ready, because the #LaCrida2026 will take place on February 22nd, one of the earliest dates possible for this iconic event that officially opens the #Fallas festivities! 🎉✨

Why is it so early? 🤔

Because the #Crida is always held on the last Sunday of February, and in 2026… that Sunday just happens to fall on the 22nd! 📅💥

A rare calendar alignment that doesn’t come around often!

📚 A bit of history…

Since the Crida moved to February in 1993, every Crida from then until now, and guess what?

Only three past editions have landed on this super-early date:

🔸 1998
🔸 2009
🔸 2015

That means the Crida has only hit February 22 once per decade on average! 😮
So 2026 joins a very exclusive group, a little Fallas rarity! 🔥

💡 Why does this happen?

Because February is unpredictable, sometimes leap year, sometimes not, sometimes starting midweek… it’s a tricky little month! 😅

In 2026, the last Sunday comes early, so the Crida does too, marking the start of Fallas at the earliest moment allowed by tradition.

🎆 A date to remember

This makes the Crida 2026 more than just the opening ceremony, it’s a symbolic moment where the calendar itself sets the rhythm of our fiesta.

Moments like this are etched into the memory of Fallas lovers everywhere. ❤️🔥

🧡💙 #València, preparem-nos… the call to the city is coming soon (74 days)! 💙🧡
